Beginner Horsemanship
This is for campers that have never been on a horse, or only a couple time. If you don't own a horse there will be one supplied for you. Campers will learn the fundamentals of horse care, horsemanship and horseback riding. Walk only class with a lead if needed, or until comfortable. One on one attention.
Intermediate Horsemanship
Intermediate horsemanship is for campers that are interested in expanding their knowledge of horse care, horsemanship, and riding skills. This is primarily a walk/trot class unless the instructor feels the rider can pick up their speed. Campers will be using an assortment of tools to help learn, such as cones, logs, etc. If you would like to bring your own horse that is encouraged, however, if you do not have a horse one will be supplied
Advanced Horsemanship
Campers are well introduced into riding. Campers know how to canter/lope without assistance. In this class, campers will work towards a solid foundation in horsemanship. This class will fine tune riding skills, learn to understand how to communicate with your horse, and learn effective training exercises to allow campers to better connect with their horse. Campers will use an assortment of tools, such as groundwork, lounging, and obstacles. Extensive riding experience required. Must bring/supply camper's own horse.
Beginner Barrels
Beginner barrels class is for campers that are interested in learning the barrel pattern. Campers are getting to know their horse and the sport. This is primarily a walk/trot class unless the instructor feels the rider can pick up their speed. Riders will grow their knowledge and fundamentals of barrel racing. In this class campers must know how to ride and maneuver their horse. Must bring/supply own horse.
Advanced Barrels
Campers are well introduced into barrels. Rider knows how to canter without assistance. They have a good foundation of the pattern and rodeo lifestyle. This class fine tunes the campers current skills for barrel racing. Extensive riding experience is required. Must bring/supply camper’s horse.
Breakaway/Team Roping
Campers can practice both breakaway and team roping or just pick one discipline. Open to any camper that knows how to ride a horse. Basic knowledge of roping is required. Steer dummies will be utilized. Campers will learn and grow their roping skills. Must bring/supply camper’s horse.
Ground Roping
This is an entry level class. No horse is required. Campers will learn how to rope from the ground. They will be learning the fundamentals of roping, roping dummies, and possibly learn some roping tricks
Bull Riding
Campers will be using a mechanical bull to learn and grow their skills. No experience is required for this class. Campers will be using a mechanical bull to learn and practice on. There will be no rough stock.
Penning/Sorting
Riders don’t need any experience working cattle on a horse, but must be able to ride/navigate a horse comfortably alone. Riders will be learning how to properly place themselves when trying to work a cow. They will learn how to sort individual numbered cows in order, from one pen to the other. It is recommended that the horse has seen cattle before. They will learn the fundamentals and grow on their existing skills. Must bring/supply camper’s horse.
Beginner Goat Tying
Open for any camper that knows how to ride a horse. No experience in goat tying is required to join this class. Live and dummy goats will be used throughout camp. Will gain experience and knowledge on skills such as dismounting horses and flipping goats. Bring your own horse and goat tying string (if you have them) and learn what it's all about!
Advanced goat tying
Open to campers that have more experience and wanting to perfect skills and knowledge. Advanced goat tying will utilize live and dummy goats. Campers will gain experience with dismounting and flipping goats. Bring your own horse and goat tying strings (if you have one) and learn what it is all about!
